Outlook is Asking for Username and Password when using Exchange 2010
In exchange server 2010 client, some time it will ask for password continuously.This is caused by a mismatch in the configuration of Exchange and Outlook. If you configured one is basic Authentication for RPC-HTTPS and the other for NTLM authentication it will make problems like this. Please follow the below steps to resolve this problem.
- Open the the exchange management console . Under the server Configuration right click on the Client Access role and select properties.
- From the outlook anywhere tab, click on the authentication methods.
- From the outlook, Go to Tools > Account Settings. Click on “account configured to use Microsoft Exchange” and select properties.
- From the properties, go to advanced settings from bottom of screen and make sure authentication setting in use is same as server.
